Byron started coughing again yesterday, Sunday. It was mild throughout the day, but was worse just before bed. This morning he only drank some milk and didn't want me to tube feed him. I fed him anyway and a few minutes after I finished he refluxed it back up. About 10 minutes after that I tried to give him his Prednisolone, but he didn't swallow, instead he gagged and refluxed again. It has been exactly one month since he had his last episode according to this journal. With the "swine flu" thing going on, I'm not sure if I should take him to the doctor right away or not. There hasn't been any cases around here, but if his immune system is down, then I don't want to expose him to other sick kids.
In reflection, Joe notes that on Saturday (while I was at Passport to Success) he and the kids went to Prophetstown to scrape and paint two barns. The paint was in spray guns so there were lots of fumes. In addition, we have been to Pizza Hut a few times this month and although his pizza had no cheese on it, we recently discovered that the crust does have milk in it. In addition, he ate half of a dark chocolate Snickers bar which has egg white and milk fat in it. I don't know if any of these contributed, but we are trying to keep track of all possibilities for future reference.
